The Island Lecture Series April session celebrated National Poetry Month and featured two Island poets in conversation with a third. Laurie Brinklow and Bren Simmers each read excerpts from their new books of poetry, My Island’s the house I sleep in at night (Island Studies Press, 2021) and If, When (Gaspereau Press, 2021), in a conversation hosted by Richard Lemm. Topics ranged from the role of story, place, and history in their poetry to their own poetic practices, with lots of laughs and some fantastic questions from the audience.
